We do the work. You keep control of your code.

Vidabug automatically tests, repairs, verifies and records real software applications. Every authorised code repair is committed to a separate branch in your own repository (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket or Azure DevOps). Your original branch stays exactly as it was, and you decide whether to merge.

The name says what we do: Video and bugs. One private cloud machine films your software the way a new user meets it, and fixes the bugs it finds on the way, with proof.

Vidabug works from four kinds of project. Pick one, or combine a repository with its live address. What you connect decides what Vidabug can see, and what it may change.

Live website

A live web app, with a demo user

Give us the address of your running app and a demo or test account, plus your user manual if you have one. Vidabug signs in and uses the app like a new user.

GitHub

A GitHub repository

Install the Vidabug GitHub App on the repositories you choose. Vidabug builds and runs the app in a private cloud machine, tests it and repairs it.

  • Repairs on a separate branch, only if you authorise it
  • A pull request for you to review
  • Your main branch is never touched
Any Git host

GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps

Connect any Git host over HTTPS with an access token, kept in an encrypted vault and bound to that host.

  • The same testing and repairs as GitHub
  • Repository sync follows your default branch
  • Revoke the token at any time
Source upload

A ZIP of the source code

No hosted repository, or rather not connect one? Upload a ZIP. It is scanned for malware before anything opens it, and stored privately.

  • Repairs come back as a patch and a report
  • Your upload is never altered
  • Delete the project and the upload goes with it

For every repair

  • Vidabug creates a dedicated repair branch in your GitHub repository.
  • The proposed fix is committed to that branch.
  • Your original branch remains unchanged.
  • You review the changes with their evidence: screenshots, steps, root cause, the red and green diff, the retest.
  • You decide whether and when to merge.
  • The video shows the verified, repaired preview. It never implies your production system was updated.

Authorised once, not fix by fix

Before any repair, an owner authorises branch creation and repository write access. Within those permissions Vidabug works autonomously: it does not stop to ask about each individual fix. Merging always remains your decision.

Three ways to work with Vidabug.

No repository changes

Create an Application Video

  • Records and explains your real application.
  • Narration, subtitles, translations and annotations.
  • Never creates or pushes a repair branch, and never modifies your repository.
  • Reports the problems it meets honestly. It never presents broken functionality as working.
  • Repository access is not needed when the demonstration can be done through an authorised browser session.
Branches you own

Test & Repair My Application

  • Tests your application and finds the defects.
  • Repairs and retests each one.
  • Commits each authorised fix to a separate branch in your repository.
  • You review, and you merge, if and when you choose.

Complete Launch Package

  • Testing, repair and verification.

  • Every repair on its own branch, with its evidence.

03 · REPOSITORY PERMISSIONS

What each permission allows. Nothing more.

Read-only access

Source-code inspection, and temporary analysis or repair experiments inside an isolated cloud machine. Nothing is pushed.

Authorised write access

Lets Vidabug create repair branches in your repository and push the proposed fixes to them. Never to your default branch, never a force-push.

Production merging

Always yours. Vidabug never merges anything into your production code.

If you decline write access, the repairs come back as a patch you can apply yourself, and Vidabug never claims to have pushed anything to GitHub.
